Estee Lauder Mascara Obsession!

If you have read my blog in the past you will know I am a MASSIVE fan of Estee Lauder's Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara.

It stays put for hours and hours with no flaking or panda eyes!
I have even cried in this and it has stayed put!

I knew that I would be coming to the end of the tube I have at the moment as it usually lasts me 6 months of using it every day. So when I saw Debenhams online had 10% off I snapped this new baby up to try!

This is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Volume and Lift Mascara. I have not tried this one before but got excited by the word Volume on my favourite mascara!

The brush for the lengthening mascara has longer bristles. The voluming and lifting has a really small brush with very very short bristles.

The consistency is very similar I would say. I would say the voluming one is a little bit thinner than the lengthening one but this may be because I have had the lengthening longer and it may be drying out.

Left - Volume and Lift / Right - Lengthening

As you can see the results are also very similar. I would say the Voluming one does lift the lashes a little bit more but nothing you couldnt achieve with a little curling anyway.

I probably wouldn't buy the Volume and Lift mascara again simply because I think it is too similar to the Lengthening one and I prefer the wand on that!

I have in the past used the Zero Smudge Curling Mascara and think I would pick that over the Volume one.

However, I have no doubt I will enjoy using the tube up and get excited to buy my next one!

I always use this primer under my mascara. I feel it has helped my lashes stay strong and long and it gives that added oomph to them!

Are there any other Estee Lauder products I just HAVE to try?!

Garnier Caffeine Roll- on Dupe!

Nipped into Poundstretcher on the weekend to see if I could pick up any storage boxes for me moving back home and came across this, Pure Eye Roll-On!

I have been loving my Garnier Tinted  Caffeine Roll-on to conceal under my eyes (review to come!) in the day and have been on the look out for a new eye serum for night. So when I clapped eyes on this for 99p I thought I would give it a go.

It says it is 'Cucumber and caffeine eye roll-on. Enriched with cucumber extract and caffeine to help soothe and stimulate tired skin under the eyes and reduce the appearance of under eye bags.'

The packaging is exactly the same as my Garnier one. The product is very thin and smooths over my under eyes a treat. It is lovely and cold making it very refreshing.
There is no fragrance to this product at all which I like. The only thing that worries my slightly is that it tingles slightly once you have put it on. This stops after a minute but still! It does say in the leaflet you get with it that it will tingle so I guess i shouldn't worry too much?

I can only compare this to my concealing Garnier Roll-on as I haven't actually tried the one this is a dupe for but for 99p I would definitely give this a shot!

May Empties

I have finished a few products this month But would I buy them again?

Gucci Rush
This has been my favorite perfume since I was 16. This must be my 4th bottle! I am sad that it has finished but I have 3 perfumes waiting to be opened so I don't feel too bad!
I think Alien is a close second to this.

YSL Baby Doll
I have had this for 2 years now and it has just run out. I used this as an every day perfume. I would wear it again but only if someone else bought it me. I wont be repurchasing again but I would recommend.

Umberto Giannini Morning After Dry Shampoo
I have been trying out a few different dry shampoos lately as I feel Batiste can be a bit heavy for my scalp. I bought a travel size of this and I love it! It smells the best out of all the dry shampoos I have tried and doesn't leave much of a white cast. I will be buying the full size of this and it is cheaper than Batiste.

Elemis Melting Cleansing Gel
I got this as a sample when I bought 2 products from the Elemis counter in Meadowhall at Christmas but have only just got round to trying it this week. I loved it that much I have already bought the full size. If anyone prefers cleansing washes or gels to creams then this is a must!

Ultrasun High 30SPF face
I have mentioned in a few blogs that I wear this every day as my moisturizer and SPF. It is amazing and I cannot rave about it enough. Can't even remember how many bottles of this I have used! They are bringing out a SPF50 of it which I have already ordered from QVC!

Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Toothpaste
Now if you read my blog a few weeks ago you would already know about the trauma I have had with my teeth! This product has really helped though. I used to have really sensitive teeth and have always used a sensitive toothpaste but this is by far the best. I have barely any sensitivity now and I do believe it has helped harden my enamel. They do a whitening version of this which I will be trying.

Any of these you have tried?

MUA Rave!

When all the hype started about MUA it kind of all past me by. One because I have tried budget makeup brands before and hated them and two because there wasn't a Superdrug that stocked MUA in my area.

After reading a review about MUA's mosaic blush being a dupe for Benefits Hervana, then I became a little more interested.

I saw on twitter MUA had an offer on that if you bought one of their Lip Booms then you got the Immaculate Collection eye shadow pallet free, what a perfect time to make an online purchase!

As I put in a previous post that I went for the Lip Boom in Cheeky, Mosaic Blush and got the Immaculate Collection pallet free.

Well...This pallet is the bomb! (Yes I did just say 'the bomb!)

Why did I shy away from these shadows for so long! They are so pigmented, blend-able and cheap!

My favorite eye shadow formula is Urban Decays, MAC being a close second but these are up there as a contender.
Some colours are better than others but on a whole, GOOD JOB MUA!

For £8 I think this is a must for those who are just starting out with make up and for make up pro's!

Speedy Brows!

I have mentioned my love/hate relationship with Benefit a few times on my blog now but this product is a love!

I have been battling with my brows for a while not as I went though a stage of over plucking! I have finally managed to grow them to a length I like and only pluck if I absolutely have to!

However, they seem to be very unruly at the moment. I fill them in a little with a pencil as I have some patch areas but they never quite looked preened, more like unkempt!

I have used Brow zings from Benefit in the past but could never get the powder to be a right match and found the wax never really did a lot so I gave up on it after much perseverance.

I then used ELF's clear lash and brow mascara to tame them but I found that it only lasted half the day and then just seemed to disappear (which is a shame because it was so cheap!).

So while repurchasing Eye bright 2 weeks ago I picked up Speed Brow to see if it was any good.

IT WAS! and now I love it.

There is a slight tint to the product but this does not show when you apply it to my brows so I do still fill them in where needed.

(After)

Obviously it doesn't make a massive difference to my face but I am very pleased with how it works.
When you first apply it it does feel a little strange as it is drying but once it has dried I cannot feel it is on and it doesn't flake throughout the day.

Most importantly, my brows stay in place all day!

I think for Benefit it isn't too over priced either (as I think a few of their products are!).

I bought this from a counter for £12.00 but if you go on Debenhams.com they have it at £10.80 as they have 10% off all beauty and free delivery!

Anyone have any good eyebrow pencils for light haired pale people?!

MAC Sheertone Blush

I have been meaning to do a post on MAC Sheertone Blushes for a while now but never seemed to get round to it.

With MAC and Benefit I find that I do not love everything in their ranges. I find them both very all or nothing. There are no products by either brand that I think are OK, I either LOVE a product or HATE it!

MAC Sheertone Blushes are definitely a LOVE product! I only have two but I have sampled a few of my friends collection as she has many!

The two I own are Coygirl and Loverush. These are two very different colours but both I love equally as much!

I bought Coygirl maybe 2 years ago now and I still have loads left even though I used it everyday for 6 months and use it at least 3 times a week since then! It is a very pink colour without being too 'barbie'. I like to use this more in the spring and summer as it gives a lovely pop of colour.

Loverush on the other hand is a very deep colour, I would liken it to burgundy. A very berry colour! I wear this mainly in the winter or on a night out as it gives a very warm cosy look. If that makes any sense at all! I loved wearing this around Christmas time.

(Below - Loverush)

(Above Left - Coygirl / Right - Loverush)

I would say that these two colours are very nearly matte. They only have the very subtlest shimmer.
They blend very well but you must use a light hand as they are very pigmented!
Especially with Loverush or you could end up looking like you have been beaten up!

I would definitely recommend these.
I am a fan of Benefits power boxes too but think that these are much better value for money at £17.50 and are better for creating looks with out piling on the shimmer!

I would like to point you all to this blog (Meg) while we are talking about MAC products as I know quite a lot of people keep an eye out for MAC on Buyapowa. Just something to be mindful of.

I would like to know what the other finishes are like!

RevitaLash Goodies!

If you haven't heard of this stuff and you have short weak eyelashes you need to be informed! This site *RevitaLash* gives you all the lowdown on what it SAYS it does. But does it really do that? Well, I haven't used it myself but my mum has. She has never had good lashes, they have always been tiny, so small in fact she could hardly get any mascara on. Since using this stuff her lashes have grown to a nice normal length and are lovely and pigmented. (I don't have any pictures unfortunately because my mum wont let me take any of her!)

She loves this so much she is onto her 2nd bottle. Now my mother is quite tight so she would only buy another one if it worked because they are nearly £60 a pop!

She buys hers from QVC and this time she bought a set which included the RevitaLash treatment, a primer and a mascara. This was on a special price at £54.96 + p&p which is cheaper that the RevitaLash is on its own! So a complete bargain! I also win in this deal because my mum doesn't wear mascara or primer so they found their way into my sticky mitts!

Now I have been blessed with pretty long eyelashes myself so I do not need to use the RevitaLash treatment myself (even though I may try my mums just in case it makes them even better!). But I am always up for trying new mascaras and primers to see if they can surpass my all time favorites, Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Mascara and Lash Primer Plus which I have used for about 3 years now.

They always wax lyrical about the products when they are on QVC obviously because they are trying to flog em! But is it actually any good?

On the whole I do really like them both.

RevitaLash Volumising Mascara - £14.00 from QVC

RevitaLash Volumising Primer - £14.01 from QVC

Before

With RevitaLash Primer

With RevitaLash Primer and Mascara

The primer is nothing like I have tried before, for a start it is electric blue! This then doubles up as a blue mascara and a primer, though I can't remember the last time I had the urge to wear blue mascara! The primer did add length to my lashes but not so much volume, and this is usually what I use a primer on my lashes for.

The mascara was pretty much the same. It gave good length but lacked in the volumising department. However the consistency of the mascara is quite liquidy so I think if you didn't mind waiting for it to dry in between coats you could keep applying till you got more volume though I think it would go a little spidery!

Now the reason why I love the Estee Lauder Double Wear Mascara is because like it says, it does not smudge! I hate mascaras that fall under your eye and give you that panda look. This never, ever moves once it is on, I have even been in floods of tears before and it hasn't budged! So for me to replace this mascara in my bag I would have to find something with that staying power.

This mascara did stay on pretty well throughout the day. However it did start to flake during the evening. But I did get at least 9 hours wear out of it before this happened.

I do like both the primer and the mascara and I will get some use out of them but they will probably be my second or third go to products after my Estee Lauder and Bourjois Volume Clubbing which I usually apple over the Estee Lauder Primer and Mascara if I am off on a night out.

Worth the money? In that deal yes!

On their own? I think at a push yes but you could probably find cheaper and similar products on the high street.

If I can manage to persuade my mum into posing for a photo I shall update this post!
